If you are interested in seeing the carving of the pig, come by at 4 pm, or stop by just outside the lodge anytime in the afternoon to check out the roasting. We hope to see you there.

]]>The pig was just under 100 pounds and it was smoked inside a gigantic smoker filled with coals since the morning for over 7 hours. You can see the smoke coming out of the BBQ and the smell of the pig roast permeated the whole village all day!
Then the pig was dressed in sunglasses and apple! We also had corn, potato and gravy, salad, and soup. For the non-pork eaters, we had hot dogs and hamburgers. We also served ice cream. The pork was super moist and everything was just delicious.
We were a little worried because of the pending storm, but luckily it turned out to be a nice day. People from the village came with their families and neighbors. We got to know our neighbors and meet their families a little bit, which was great.It was moist and delicious. I think people really enjoyed it based on the compliments we got and people took some of the leftovers home.
Thank you for all the volunteers who helped out with preparing the food and cleaning up afterwards.
