The EPOA will be hosting a free stargazing event on Saturday, August 27 at 8:30 pm. Please note that if the forecast is for cloudy skies, the event will need to be moved to another evening, so stay tuned for an update if needed!
Kevin Ackert will be the host for this evening. The event will be held on his property at 5 Porridge Shore. He will be providing telescopes, including the largest portable telescope in New England!!! If you have a telescope of your own, please feel free to bring it. Kevin and his associate Barrie will also provide a fascinating narrative about the night sky!
Everyone in Eidelweiss is welcome to join us, including residents, property owners, and guests. Please park carefully along the street.

Volunteers Needed for Mulching
After the EPOA Annual Meeting, we will be spreading mulch in different areas of Eidelweiss. With enough volunteers, it should only take about 30 minutes or so.

We are also looking for new volunteers to join the EPOA Board this year. Volunteer to be on the Board or being an alternate. Please email us if you are interested in volunteering. We would love to chat with you.
2021 EPOA Membership Dues

]]>| Hello Everyone, We had a great turnout for the second Fall walk during Columbus Day weekend. We had beautiful weather and many people stopped by for coffee, cider, and donuts. It was great to see everyone, including kids and dogs from the neighborhood. We also organized a highway cleanup along Route 113. Thank you to Bob Ingram, who organized the cleanup, and to the many volunteers who helped on a gorgeous Saturday morning. We collected 28 bags of garbage with lots of beverage cans and bottles. The volunteers who came out to help were John, Sharon, Bob, Phil, Julie, Susu, Bev, Kerry, Roger, and Janet. Environmental Services.
The presentation was well-attended with over twenty residents and they asked a lot of questions concerning the environment. Here are some notes that we took from the meeting.
Overall, our pond water is in good shape compared to the other lakes. The PH is slightly below average. Sara said using phosphorus-free fertilizer will help to keep the quality of the pond water. Just because fertilizer is organic, it doesn’t mean phosphorus-free.
It is important to know the capacity of your septic tank and if you have more people such as renters using your septic tank than it’s intended for, it could cause sewage runoffs. Septic tank should be pumped every 3 years and every year if your property is on the shore.
Invasive aquatic plants and animals
Chinese mystery snail is super invasive and depletes the natural organisms in the ponds. Water fleas – Asian clams
Cyanobacteria happen when the water gets warmer and it can be toxic for dogs and caused a rash on humans.
